Aged 18 years and I am Married.
I grew up in a family where my father believed that educating a girl child is the wastage of money and time, he never wanted girls to attend school. My mother could sell fruits, vegetables and also dig in other people’s farms so that she can get Money to send me to school, but whenever I could come back from school my father would say harsh words to me and my mother. I used to attend school in a government school because that’s the only school that my mother could afford and we were paying less money. Some times I could miss school and move with my mother to the markets to sell fruits and to also work in people’s farms to earn a living and to also get money to keep sending me to school, I continued struggling to attain education in that situation until I reached primary six(P6) and my mother asked me to drop out school because she couldn’t manage paying my school fees anymore. Life after dropping out of school became so hard , my father had all the chances now to keep telling me to go for marriage, I stayed home with both my parents and my younger siblings helping my parents in the farm and continued going to the markets selling fruits and vegetables, my father was the alcoholic he could come home drunk and say a lot of abusive words to me and my mother, after some months i had to run away from home and went to stay with some of my relatives but still life wasn’t easy, they insulted me a lot so I decided to come back home but my father was very tough and insisted on me to get married. At the age of 17 years I got my husband and decided to get married, I have been married for 1 year now and I don’t have anything that I am earning from. My husband told me about the organisation that is teaching women skills and he told me how women that organisation are acquiring that are helping them and he encouraged me to join it. I am happy now that I joined RAISING A GIRL TO THE WORLD because it feels like a school to me, I am learning skills, I can now weave baskets and sew clothes and still learning more because I have been in this organization for 4 months now and am so thankful to everyone that has supported us

Aged 23 years, I am a single mother of 1 child. I stopped school in 2019 due to lack of school fees at the age of 18 years. COVID 19 came in and I happened to get pregnant during that holiday.
I have been struggling with life until I joined RAISING A GIRL TO THE WORLD ORGANIZATION which has helped me to acquire skills like sewing, weaving baskets, making door mats. At least I can now sew clothes and weave baskets, I still hope that I am going to learn other more skills which will be useful to me. The challenge I face is the lack of materials to use while learning, less sewing machines which makes us learn in shifts. I believe for a life change through this organization.
My dream is to learn all the skills so that I can be able to look after my daughter and myself.
